Job 6a - Job Responds to Eliphaz

In anguish and pain, Job responds to Eliphaz. Nothing can justify my suffering, says Job, don't insinuate that I an somehow at fault for these calamities, and friends should offer support and not platitudes.  

Job 5b - Eliphaz Knows How God Works

Eliphaz completes his first speech in response to Job's suffering. In it he claims to know that God's justice is visible and real and therefore Job should accept it and turn to God for salvation.

Job 5a - Eliphaz Preaches

Eliphaz insists that Job should pray to God and repent for his alleged sins.

Job 4b - Eliphaz' Dream

Eliphaz declares that God is just and therefore the innocent cannot suffer. He therefore concludes that Job must not be innocent.

Eliphaz is upset by Job's outburst, and he criticizes him for not being able to handle the suffering.

Job laments his fate and curses the day upon which he was born.
