Ezekiel 38 - The War of Gog, King of Magog

After the people of Israel are gathered upon their land, many nations will refuse to accept God.  They will insist that might and power and oppression are the ways to achieve their aims.  God is trying to teach peace, coexistence, humility and knowledge of God, but they refuse to learn.  They gather against God and attempt to plunder the peaceful land.  God Himself wages war against them so that the entire world can learn of God.

Ezekiel 37b - Unity and a Covenant of Peace

God promises to bring the nation back to its' land, only this time it will be built on unity and peace.  Through cohesion, cooperation, and unity, an everlasting covenant of peace will be built between God, His people, and the nations of the world.

Ezekiel 37a - The Valley of Dry Bones

In one of his most famous prophesies, Ezekiel restores hope to the nation in Despair.  God will breathe life back into the nation of Israel.  Out of death and destruction, there will one day be a rebirth.

Ezekiel 36b - The Waters of Purification

In one of the most beautiful prophesies of Ezekiel, we learn that God will redeem the people for His sake.  It is not for us, but for His holy name.  We must be humble and recognize that we have strayed, and then we can sanctify God's name in front of the entire world.

Ezekiel 36a - The Mountains are the Flash Point

Ezekiel turns his attention to the mountains and land features of Israel.  The mountains were the flashpoint, the place where the people of Israel learned their corrupt ways frpom the Edomites.  The Edomites coveted those mountains and gleefully took them and plundered them when Judea was destroyed.  God reassures the mountains that one day their children would return.

Ezekiel 35 - Jealous Brothers

Ezekiel turns his attention to Edom.  Many sins can be forgiven, but bearing a grudge forever and rejoicing over the downfall of your brethren cannot be tolerated.

Ezekiel 34 - True Leadership

The Shepherds of Israel have failed to lead their sheep.  Instead of leading the people, they selfishly took advantage of them. So God declares that there will be a new leader, one who searches for the lost, mends the broken, and cares for the sick.  This leader will be guided gy God, not by his own arrogance,

Ezekiel 33b - The News Arrives in Babylon

The refugees from the destruction arrive in babylon and inform their brethren of the destruction.  Ezekiel addresses the people of remaining in the land that they will not be part of the redemption, as they have still not given up their bickering and fighting and corrupted ways.  But the people in exile in Babylon, they finally see that a prophet resides among them.

Ezekiel 33a - Is God Fair?

Though Ezekiel is still unaware, as the Temple is being destroyed, God speaks to Ezekiel about personal responsibility.  We are responsible for each other, but ultimately we are responsible for ourselves.  God informs us that no matter how bad we were in the past, we can still make ourselves better today.  No matter how good we were in the past, we can still be arrogant and destroy ourselves.  Ultimately, God is fair - don't complain but act.

Ezekiel 32 - Lamenting the Destruction of Others

God instructs the prophet to lament the destruction of Egypt.  We should not gloat over the suffering of others, even those who have not treated us well in the past.  God informs Egypt, that every arrogant and oppressive nation that rose against others in the past and spread fear and terror has eventually been destroyed and descended into Hell.  So too will Egypt suffer that fate.
